Our Mission Our mission is to bring a broader and deeper understanding of the benefits of complementary approaches to healthcare and then to facilitate their implementation throughout the community in order to improve health and well being. |
| What we do We have a thriving clinic employing outstanding practitioners and a team of medical doctors who are qualified in homeopathy which inspires admiration and respect throughout the community. The clinic has over 12,000 registered patients and offers a range of treatment methods including osteopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy, medical herbalism, nutritional therapy, aromatherapy, massage (remedial,sports and Swedish), counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, ayurveda, reiki and emotional freedom technique. Alongside the clinic we run a wide variety of classes teaching self-help preventative approaches such as Alexander Technique, meditation, t'ai chi, yoga and Pilates. Over 1,000 students a week attend classes. In both the clinic and the classes we choose qualified, talented people to help us create a warm, friendly environment and we take the experience of our clients and students seriously. |
| Other Activities The 'Growing People' Horticultural Therapy Programme has been running at the Centre since October 2006. It is focussed on people with mental health problems and based on the rationale that gardening combines physical exercise and is mentally calming. We have designed and delivered a national programme of university-accredited courses for health professionals run at Thames Valley University and for Marie Curie Cancer Care which was hailed by the Nursing Times as a ‘milestone in the establishment of these (complementary) therapies within the NHS'. |
| Where we are The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living is based at Rosehill Hospital, a wonderful conservation area in the middle of eight acres of tranquil greenbelt. The site was an NHS cottage hospital and has been tastefully refurbished to house the clinic, accommodate the classes and provide conference and meeting rooms for private events. |
