Rachel Luck has taught Pilates at the Letchworth Centre for 10 years. Her original background was as a Registered Mental Health Nurse and trained counsellor working initially in a therapeutic community and later for the charity MIND. Rachel has always been interested in mind and body health and the link between the two.
Her path changed after having children and she trained as an aerobics instructor and then as a British Association for Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV Exercise Instructor. This then led on to her training with Modern Pilates as a matwork teacher. The course was devised and taught by physiotherapists. She then went on to complete courses in Pilates for back care, for shoulder knee and hip and also for the older adult. She also trained in one-to-one assessment and Pilates exercise prescription.
More recently Rachel has qualified in teaching Pilates Reformer and Cadillac with Gordon Thomson (formerly of Body Control Pilates). She is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals and continues to pursue her interest in Pilates, exercise, health and wellbeing.
