Kate has studied yoga for over 40 years and is a 500 hour MindflowYoga Qualified Yoga Teacher of Sarah O’Connor. She has been a pranayama student of Sarah’s for over nine years and previously studied with Philip Jones, one of the first teachers of pranayama in the UK (teaching the practices of Swami Gitananda). Philip was an ex-miner who survived with greatly reduced lung capacity through pranayama and hatha yoga. He was an inspiration and proof of the efficacy of breathing practices.
Kate’s influences come from the wonderful teachers she has practised yoga and meditation with over the years. She has been a student of Sarah Harris, a highly respected yoga teacher, for many years and has gained both knowledge and inspiration from her classes. She has also trained with Swami Dharmananda Saraswati Maharaj, founder of the Dharma Centre. She has studied the philosophy of yoga on the MindflowYoga Teacher Training course under the joyful guidance of Neelam Taneja, who provided profound knowledge and wisdom. Kate likes to combine the practices of pranayama, mantra and meditation to maintain inner peace and a feeling of equanimity.
