Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a Japanese energy healing practise. It is a calming treatment, great for promoting relaxation, reducing stress, boosting the immune system, and in turn helping various health problems. It works holistically, on a mental, emotional, physical and spiritual level, helping to bring balance to oneself, as well as putting you in touch with inner wisdom and clarity.
Reiki is a hands on (or off) technique, with the recipient fully clothed, lying on a treatment table (or seated if preferred). The flow of this universal life force energy is activated through the placing of hands on specific positions on the head and body by the practitioner.
One-off treatments are effective for reducing stress in the mind/body, putting the body back into a more balanced state and providing an overall sense of well being and relaxation.
2 or 3 treatments are effective for achieving optimum balance, centering yourself and for boosting your energy system. Further regular treatments can then focus on addressing deeper energy shifts, based on your individual situation.
Reiki is complementary with all other therapies and orthodox medical healthcare, with no known contra-indications. Reiki is also suitable during pregnancy.
