Hypnotherapy

The term hypnotherapy derives from the ancient greek ‘hypnos’ meaning ‘to sleep’. Contrary to its name, hypnotherapists do not put people to sleep, but instead bring them to an altered state of awareness and deep relaxation. This quietens the chatter of the conscious mind, allowing the subconscious mind to deeply focus on the issue at hand without distraction - something which the fast pace of daily life does not generally permit.

From this place of deep relaxation, focus and awareness, we can often reach an understanding of the causes of our behaviour, past feelings  and of our deepest desires. These understandings can then be used to shape present behaviour and to enable lasting changes to occur.

Hypnotherapy can be especially useful in changing addictive behaviour such as smoking, substance abuse and over eating, as well as removing emotional blocks to living a more fulfilling life.
