Specialist Yoga Courses

Yin Yoga

This is a slower-paced, more meditative practice where poses are held for around 3-5 minutes to gradually open up the body and mind. Ideal for anyone who spends a lot of time sitting at a desk or driving, for runners with tight hamstrings or for anyone who simply needs to slow down and take some time to release and find stillness.

Please bring your own mat, a small cushion and a blanket plus any props you might like to support your practice such as yoga blocks, bricks, bolsters and an eye pillow for the relaxation phase

This course is designed for people living with chronic and autoimmune conditions, mental health issues or with restricted movement. The class offers the possibility of working either on a chair or mat, or on a combination of both to suit individual needs.

For more than twenty years I have suffered with chronic pain, followed by crippling fatigue. I thought a Restorative Yoga class would be too hard and everyone would look at me and judge. When I went to the first class I noticed that everyone had health issues and that helped me to not feel so self-conscious of what I was not able to do or find difficult. The group made me feel like I fitted in. I have always been fortunate to belong to a friendly, sociable class.”

Antenatal yoga is a wonderful way to connect with your body and prepare for the journey of motherhood. Led by Kerrie Bond, this class can help you stay active and calm during your pregnancy.

You need to have reached your 14th week of pregnancy to participate in this class.

“The Yin yoga class with Claire Winterbourne is so good.  I have attended three so far, and every time, my fluidity of movement and joy in moving afterwards is wonderful.  I find it is quiet and contemplative, encouraging trust in the slow yielding of the body in different positions to gravity.   I am very grateful to Claire and the way she prepares to receive us for each meeting and guides us through our time together.  It is an experience of exploration and appreciation of our body and its capacity for renewal in surprising, subtle ways.  I feel like a panther.  I’m 73!“ Christine
